Despite the setbacks and devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, its occurrence has been an eye-opening experience for global leaders. The lessons learned are significant in helping global leaders in readiness to deal with the crisis as leadership competencies such as cognitive competency, and a global mindset are top priorities in global leadership, not just during a crisis but also in leading change in organizations. Global leaders are expected to be aware of the global environment they are working in, identify the challenges they might face, and develop the appropriate skills to address the issues (Porkodi, 2022).
