I am not concerned about supporting a patient who chooses allopathic/holistic medicine. Patients can select the treatment they believe will best address their health needs. Holistic medicine has been proven to be ideal for managing specific conditions. Thus, respecting patients’ preferences and upholding their autonomy is imperative (Gordon, 2019). However, healthcare professionals must also work to ensure patients understand the safety and efficacy concerns surrounding their chosen/preferred forms of treatment. They must emphasize the importance of combining patients’ preferred treatment approaches with conventional treatments by engaging in honest and open discussions and providing evidence-based information. Collaborating with patients in decision-making is vital to ensuring optimal outcomes and enhancing trust in care providers (Gordon, 2019).
