According to Jordan, (2013), criminal proceedings refers to a lawsuit or non-criminal legal action which is taken to court by someone or an organization claiming that a particular part has caused the loss or damage. On the other hand, criminal proceedings are lawsuits mostly started by someone (a plaintiff) against another person or organization (a defendant) over the crime committed for him or her. Both criminal and civil lawsuits pertain to the violation of either state or the federal laws. Secondly, both the civil and criminal proceedings are the lawsuits that fought in the court and usually presided by the judge. Both cases require one party getting an order from the court.
