Answer previewThe primary bias affecting the appointment of judges in Florida is the appointment on the basis of political considerations as opposed to the qualifications of judges. More so, there is a conflict on the governor who gets to appoint the judges especially in instances where the governor is about to retire, and the judge’s tenure is complete; for example, on December 2016, Rick Scott who was about to retire appointed a conservative judge to the Supreme Court and threatened to appoint other judges. However, most Florida residents contested this appointment as they thought that it would be best for the judge to be appointed by the incoming governor as opposed to Scott who was leaving office. Political considerations affect the impartiality of judges (Ware, 2015).
