Literary Interpretation of Bluebeard by Charles Perrault

The story of Bluebeard is about a man with a blue beard who married many wives but disappeared mysteriously and even though the colored beard made him ugly; he managed to attract girls. Bluebeard married a new wife and left her for business telling her to look after the house well apart from one small room, but the wife’s curiosity almost caused her to die, Maria, (162). The story has a moral meaning through its symbolic representation that curiosity is always costly since in most cases, it forces an individual to break rules.
