Different proponents have differing definitions, but all of them agree that it is a philosophy which gives us insight about our existence, freedom, and choice. It attempts to explain the meaning behind life, the inexistence of God, the ability of humans to make reasonable decisions despite being found in an overly unreasonable universe. It asserts that humans make our meaning of life and that our existence is purposeless and in vain.
