Below are some nonverbal dimensions. In a 2-3 page paper, take each of these dimensions and think of an example of how the dimension communicates a meaning in the dominant culture of the United States. Then go through the same list and think of an example from a culture different from your own.

Non-Verbal communication is the reliance of information between people without the use of words. Actions such as nodding to signify approval, putting a finger across the mouth to signify silence and pointing to show directions are some of the examples of non-verbal cues (Spunt, Ellsworth, and Adolphs, 2017). In different communities, different cues are taken to mean different things.
Non-Verbal Communication in the USA
Appearance: Americans value how they look and their level of attractiveness. A person wearing a short dress in the US would therefore not face much criticism as compared to the same person in a different country with different cultural beliefs.
Posture: A person’s posture in the US is very important. Standing with hands folded or hands in the waist is taken to signify power or pride.
Facial expressions: Winking in the US is a non-verbal cue that is taken to mean a romantic attraction and sexual invitation….
