The sudden attack in the country forced the government to take measures in heightening security to mitigate such a lethal threat in the future. Hence, the American Congress passed the Patriotic Act to enable law enforcement to detect threats of terrorism. The enacted act, however, eased restrictions on law enforcer’s ability to gather intelligence regarding the citizen’s communication and activities in domestic and foreign investigations.
