Focus Groups
A focus group is a group of individuals selected from different backgrounds in the community by an organization. The group is mainly helpful in anticipating the general customer’s reaction to a company’s product. The group comprises of the participants and the moderator, who coordinates the session. (Kellmereit, 2015). Participating in a focus group can be quite interesting. Personally, I had to fill out an online application, well advised by a friend’s sister. Unfortunately, I was unlucky and was not shortlisted, but my friend was. Later he shared the events of the one-and-a-half-hour-long session he attended. According to him, the atmosphere was so light and friendly that he did not have to recite the questions he had prepared beforehand. Instead, he came up with even more relevant questions on the spot.
