The assigned community setting is a reformatory which only hosts young offenders. Generally, this jail is more of a reform school for juveniles. Most of the delinquents in this setting are in for substance abuse, attempted homicides and suicides and mental health disorders which cause crime. Therefore, the role of the Community Health Nurses (CHN) includes preventing deaths among the offenders, mental health interventions, substance use treatment, and programs, care planning for those discharged and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. The vulnerable populations among these delinquents include those with mental disorders, drug addiction, and individuals involuntarily confined. They are vulnerable since it affects their ability to present informed consent to the health nurses. Hence, the purpose is to rehabilitate and reform these offenders.
