Natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, cyclones, among others, pose risks to diseases such as Malaria, diarrhea infections, especially in the absence of a pre-surveillance data (Kouadio et al., 2012). There is evidence of harmful conditions, although there are concerns of public health officials and the media overemphasizing them.  However, there is no evidence to support those infectious diseases will occur shortly after a disaster.
