- Write an assessment of the policy analysis or proposal and the need it addresses
- Provide a description of the policy, including historical background and an explanation of the context where the policy is enacted as it relates to the disaster management cycle
- Provide a rationale for the policy
- Provide an explanation of how the policy supports the goals of the community
- Describe the main components of the policy and how the components address the problem and the stage of the disaster management cycle. Specify any specific tools or resources used (e.g., economic or funding mechanisms)
- Explain how the policy intends to achieve its goals to demonstrate its effectiveness
- Explain how the policy addresses issues of diversity or areas where diversity is lacking; in particular, what are the underlying social and political values the policy adheres to?
- Detail any issues and challenges in implementation
- Describe the policy’s plan for evaluating the policy, or offering specified policy alternatives
