Information systems refer to the study of hardware and software networks that individuals use to gather process and share data. Information systems are constituted by components such as hardware, software, communication networks, and data, people, and processes that are created by people to create, store and share vital data, especially in organizational contexts (Nürk, 2019) Within such organizational contexts, the components of information systems listed above work interdependently to gather, process, keep in store and share useful information that can be relied upon when organizations are making decisions central to their operations.
