Women participated virtually in social and political activities, especially during the revolution, but their participation almost proved controversial. Women’s status in society, family, and politics had long been a subject of polemics. By the 18tth century, those who favored the improvement of women’s status primarily insisted on their right to education rather than participation in political and leadership affairs. Traditionally, political leaders and the society at large took a different stance on women. They viewed women as socially and biologically distinct from men, and for this reason, they were destined to play roles within their families rather than political or public roles. The traditional writers like jean Jacques- Rousseau wrote influential books about women. In specific, Rousseau, in his writing, created a vision for an ideal education for women (Salmon,1781)
