A few days ago, I was having a business conversation with a Chinese. Having not interacted with people from many different cultures, I was unaware that non-verbal communication was more important, especially in business transactions, as people from different cultures use other communication techniques. Nonverbal communication is used to give extra information or clarifications (Skills You Need, 2021). For the Chinese community, facial expression, eye contact, and voice tone are highly considered when conversing. In the Western culture, direct communication is used more, especially when doing business, and non-verbal communication is not highly regarded.
