The military should not radio air or artillery support because it is prudent to consider the safety of the villagers, because considering that villagers are defenseless and have no training regarding combat, it is unethical to involve them in a crossfire between the military and the enemy forces. Radioing for air support is also a risky move because the weaponry associated with the enemy forces is robust and could as well take out the radioed air support. Weapons should not be unleashed because it is the moral responsibility of the army to ensure the safety of innocent citizens. Therefore, the ethical decision, in this case, is to compromise the security of the personnel because they are trained soldiers who can handle combat (Vaughn, 2015). However risky this is, soldiers have a fighting chance against the enemies as compared to villagers. The personnel should devise a strategy of advancing without the enemies noticing to neutralize the attacking enemies and rescue the soldiers receiving fire.
