The “Big Short” is an American film that was directed by Adam McKay in 2015 and is based on a book written by Michael Lewis known as “The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine.” The film explains how the American financial crisis happened between 2007 and 2008. The movie focuses on different professionals who made predictions ad heavily benefited from the build-up and eventually collapse of the housing bubble that was experienced between 2007 and 2008. Some of the stars in the film include Steve Carell, Christian Bale, Brand Pitt, and Ryan Gosling (Stempel, 2021). Some several deregulations and innovations led to the financial crisis that can be identified from the film.
