Cloud Computing Topologies
Becoming the Configurator
There are different kinds of cloud technologies (e.g., the public cloud, the private cloud, and a hybrid mix of cloud networks). In this assignment, you will examine the different types, look at ways to manage and implement them for your network, and make recommendations on their usefulness.
Assignment Guidelines
- Research cloud computing topologies.
- List and describe Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Infrastructure as a Service options, and explain the reason why each would be used by an organization.
- List and describe the differences between open, private, and hybrid cloud topologies, and be sure to consider emerging technologies that could impact these cloud topologies.
- Explain some of the most common issues of the cloud computing ecosystem.
- Give a recommendation on the type of cloud an organization should consider if it is looking to add new applications for its end users to utilize in managing customers while also trying to reduce the short-term costs of acquiring new technology and the long-term costs of supporting technology.
Your submitted assignment must include the following:
- Include a cover sheet with your name, class, section, and date.
- The content of your paper should be a document of 2–4 pages, not including the title page or references page.

Introduction
Technology has steered innovation of various tools, and one of them is cloud computing, which an extension of the traditional network, but it has advanced features and capabilities. The unique functionality of cloud computing is that it provides a highly scalable platform whereby the resources are offered to the client as-a-services, and these resources can be accessed remotely. Cloud computing has been able to solve the issue related to storage capacity and sharing of resources since it has dedicated servers which are located in different locations. There is a different kind of cloud computing topologies, and each one of them has different functionality (Rani, Rani & Babu, 2015). Therefore, it is appropriate for an organization to choose a cloud computing topology which suits their need to steer towards achieving its goals.
