As an HR manager, how you will address potential security risks on employee data, third-party access, or organizational data for a proposed HRIS? Choose one and describe in detail; include the controls recommended to address these concerns.

The HRIS system contains employees’ confidential and personal information, including their social security number details, medical data, and payroll information. The Human Resource Department must ensure that this information is secured and safe from unauthorized personnel (Kavanagh & Johnson, 2020). Safeguarding the data is crucial in ascertaining that employees’ information is safe from the risk of information breaches that may lead to defamation, identity theft, financial fraud by hackers, and malicious people (Valcik, Sabharwal, & Benavides, 2021). To prevent information breaches in the HRIS, employers should investigate vendor’s security measures and restrict those who can access the system. Also, they need to implement cyber security measures, create security awareness programs for employees, and conduct regular security checks on the system by keeping it up to date.
