Serial killings have long tormented Western society’s conscience, and it is no surprise that numerous documentaries have been dedicated to demystifying the mystery surrounding the perpetrators of these heinous acts. Fascination with these characters extends beyond their localities or nations to the entire globe. It is rather common to find people in one country discussing serial murders in other jurisdictions. This paper discusses the depictions in a 2005 documentary titled Unmasking Jack the Ripper and analyzes its subject from a criminology perspective.
