Nelson Madiba Mandela represented South Africa in the conquest for freedom and the fight on apartheid rule. Nelson Mandela ruled South Africa for five years from the year 1994 to 1999 when the country received its independence. He was the first black president in South Africa to enter office as president through the first democratic campaign experienced in the region (Abel, 23).  Nelson’s government focuses on tackling racism in institutions and reconciling racial discrimination among all South Africans.
