Also, when an individual with HIV develops an opportunistic disease uncommon in non-HIV individuals, they are considered to have AIDS. Left untreated, individuals with HIV progress to AIDS where their immune system has sustained critical damage. The weakened state of the immune system of an AIDS patient leaves them at risk of contracting several illnesses (Albarillo & O’Keefe, 2016). Patients with AIDS exhibit some common symptoms, one of which is a constant and recurrent fever. The fever may sometimes interfere with sleeping cycles due to the occurrence of night sweats. High incidents of diarrhea also affect AIDS patients. Constant diarrhea may lead to dehydration and requires that the patient include regular hydration routines daily….
