This working environment allowed employees, mainly nurses, to be involved in effective decision-making. There are several ways in which the hospital I worked in implemented shared governance to achieve the magnet accreditation. Through transformation leadership, the institution promoted advanced and qualified nurses into leadership roles within each department. Their roles involved advocating for the needs of the patients and demonstrating strong leadership skills. The selected leadership nursing teams were engaged in reforming healthcare policies and suggesting innovations and approaches improve patient outcomes. Through shared governance, nurse managers were allowed to make decisions that led to cohesion, thus smoothening the collaboration and teamwork flow.
