1.Has American swung too far to the right or to the left in the debate between the separation of church and state? Why?

2.What is your assessment of Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights movement? What impact has it had upon the religious landscape of America?

3.How would you define the status of religion in America today? Are we still ‘one nation, under God’ or a nation that has lost its religious moorings? Discuss.
