For instance, in Janet’s case, rather than automatically concluding that Kareem’s behavior was unusual and reporting this to Thomas immediately, she should have taken time to consider what Michael shared about Thomas before deciding what to do with the information. Doing this might have led to better outcomes than Kareem’s termination, considering Janet would have had time to learn more about Kareem’s behaviors. Besides this, learning how to process one’s emotions can also be valuable (Cherry, 2022). In Michael’s case, instead of perceiving Kareem’s behavior as odd, Michael should have slowed down and processed his emotions. Doing this might have given him time to learn more about what Kareem was doing and why he was doing it, preventing him from reporting the behaviors to Janet.
