Regardless of their positions and the expectations placed on judges, they are still susceptible to making the mistakes that any normal human being can make. Thus, removal from the bench is far-fetched. Judges should either be suspended for a few days or fined when they are charged with such criminal offenses. However, when the charge shifts from being a misdemeanor to a felony the charge should be removed from the bench. More so, when such conduct affects the official functions of the judge through impairing his or her judgment to the point where the judge is incapable of making responsible judicial decisions, the judge should be removed from the bench.
