In business settings, both employees and top management are expected to uphold their ethics at all times (Fournier, & Avery, 2011). However, sometimes this is not the case especially when the life of an individual or the business is at stake. One example is that of the Filene’s basement store involving an attendant and Norma. Norma was a loyal customer of the store for a long period but one day the management had to ban her from making purchases from their stores. This was because she ones tried to dictate the discount prices to be given. She had taken a role that was not hers and this would have damaged the relationship between the store and its other customers. Due to this Norma had to be sacrificed for a better tomorrow of the Filene’s basement store.(160words)
