CVS is a health care organization in the United States founded in 1963 and headquartered in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The organization owns a couple of subsidiaries, including CVS Pharmacy, which is a retail chain of pharmacies, CVS Caremark, and Aetna, which serves as a health insurance provider (Funding Universe, 2021). Initially, CVS Health started as an organization focused on helping customers better take care of their health and beauty. However, as the years passed, it incorporated pharmaceutical services. In 2020, the organization ranked fifth on the Fortune 500 list and thirteenth on the Fortune Global 500 list, courtesy of its $194.58 billion annual revenue (Funding Universe, 2021). The organization has been able to attain such success predominantly due to its competitive advantage, which it grows via strategic decision-making.
