Catharism and Bogomil .

I have a 10 page draft. The paper needs to be on the topic of Catharism. So far I have created an annotated bibliography with sources for the paper, and also have a portion of the Introduction written. I am attaching the prompt and requirements. It is relatively vague, but the professor put an emphasis on the paper having a thesis that can be argued. You will be able to see in my uploaded work the angle I am going for.

Here is a google docs link to my annotated bibliography with notes from him: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WEw9okYakYgT67xBJKH0lfnnIv5EtitpWg8ruT8tZeY/edit#bookmark=id.gjdgxs

Answer preview

The paper’s main argument is the coherence, and the univocal state of the different Catharism teachings explored from the perspective of the causes. The coherence and univocal state of these views can only be clear within the social context that they were constructed and promoted. Particularly both heresy and social construction were important forces that pioneered and promoted the long popularity of Catharism in the medieval period in Europe.  It is important to explain why their beliefs had long popularity in Europe despite the opposition from the Orthodox teachings. With less focus on criticism of the Catholic religion (despite its flaws in the medieval period), it is important to highlight the measures that influenced the success and the decline of Catharism. Both heresy and social construction comprehensively influenced the emergence and popularity of Catharism. The religion filled a social void left by the monarchy
