Being a nurse has always meant more than a white uniform and a cap. Being a nurse does not seem to have the same feeling as it used to. Nursing today is more involving, and it impacts people in numerous ways. I did not become a nurse because I wanted a job but because I had caring skills (Alenezi, Aboshaiqah, & Baker, 2018). During my internship, I got the privilege of working with people from all walks of life and providing care to them. I met people who suffered different health challenges and had different expectations. That gave me the feeling that what I do impacts one’s life tremendously, and to some, I am a lifesaver. During my internship, I met a patient involved in an accident, and our organization was on strike by that time. That patient saw life in me. However, that was one of the most challenging and frightening moments of my life. Regardless of the organization’s state, I had to give life to this patient by that time, which impacted my career positively.

This incident changed how I perceived nursing as I started taking it more than just something I do for a living. That incident allowed me to express how I care for people and how I can use my knowledge and skills to change people’s life.
