Defending the sovereignty of a country is not bargainable. The king tried, by all means, to ensure the freedom of citizens is not at trial by engaging in wars that threatened the sovereignty of the republic. Such spending by any nation is encouraged and cannot be termed as wasteful spending or inconsiderate as it is in the best interest of the kingdom. For the king’s spending, it is not for his personal life as for the affairs of the leader is the burden to be borne by the citizenry (Palmer, et a. 305). For instance, his aggressive approach to foreign policy, which he achieved through continually invading Spanish Netherlands, was solely based on expanding his territory to overseas colonies (Lewis, Warren Hamilton, 234). With this, the kingdom would have benefited a lot of interns from having an extra source of raw materials for its industries. The kingdom would have gained supremacy and therefore command respect from other kingdoms and nations.  In my opinion, any country should invest in their king or leader so that he can serve them in the best way possible. I, therefore, believe that this is not wrong and cannot make the king guilty.
