During the battle of the Bulge, George S Patton was the commander of the US Third Army. He was certainly among the most feared commanders by the Germans. During this battle, he commanded 18 divisions and 540000 soldiers.[i].  Also known as Ardennes Counteroffensive, the battle lasted over a month[ii].
