COMPARISON ANALYSIS

Comparison Analysis

Interview a person from a culturally subordinate group in the U.S. to which you do not belong. You may try to interview someone from the ethnic group your team is researching.

Try to push your boundaries by choosing a person you do not already know intimately. During your interview, ask questions that will help you to address the points of analysis below. Be prepared to explain the concepts of cultural privilege and stereotyping to your interviewee. Compare only your identities as dominant and subordinate group members

Example : White vs. Person of Color or

Person without a Disability vs. Person with a Disability. Use a comparative analysis to discuss the following components in your paper:

  • What cultural privileges do you enjoy as someone who belongs to a dominant cultural group in the United States that your interviewee does not?
  • How have your experiences being stereotyped due to this cultural identity been similar and/or different from your interviewee?
  • How have your experiences in health care been similar and/or different from your interviewee due to your differing cultural

identities?

I provide you with examples but you do not have to choose them if you have a good topic other than the examples, you can write about it but follow the instructions.
