Answer preview

which prompts many people to recognize God’s contribution to human beings’ makeup rather than the influence of artificial actors. Therefore, the maxim adheres to the two formulations espoused by Kant. The fact that people believe God should be the only one who guides the creation process means that genetic engineering will not be accepted in society since it contravenes this principle. In addition, engaging in genetic engineering requires scientists to use human beings as test subjects to understand the impacts of the practice. Such an aspect then means they are using fellow humans as a means to an end, which is prohibited under the second formulation.
