Answer preview

The first and most vital aspect of court security is structural planning. However, this is beyond the scope of a judge’s function because, as it is evident in the video clip, the court may not have sufficient structural planning like enclosed stands for accused persons to limit the risk of them causing harm to others. The next best thing, therefore, is to make use of the court marshals and incorporate the assessment of sheriffs on the need to restrain suspects who are perceived to be problematic (Fautsko et al., 2013). In circumstances where the judge believes that restraint would constitute an affront to the dignity of a person, then he or she can allow for arrangements to have suspects monitored more closely. In such an instance, it would help to have al least two court marshals seated close to the accused person and watch his every move.
