Cultural models of nursing instill cultural competence in nursing and advance practice nurses. Cultural competence enables nurses to offer the best services to every customer (Abrishami, 2018). Individualized care lead to high-quality care and satisfaction to patients. If the nursing administration does not consider cultural diversity, healthcare effectiveness would be limited as patients need a holistic treatment approach. Cultural competence equips nurses with communication skills that enable them to interact with patients from diverse (Repo, Vahlberg, Salminen, Papadopoulos, & Leino-Kilpi, 2017). Secondly, cultural models of nursing prepare nurses with the background knowledge that helps them avoid stereotyping and myopic thoughts. The models guide nurses on how to serve all patients regardless of where they come from, their social and economic status, religion, or cultures they are subscribed to. The models seek to address disparities in healthcare provision.
