After watching this video, I feel that true to Bryan Stevenson’s talk, and we have been ignoring the truth of the matter in the name of justice. The social system we live in has developed the aspect of getting comfortable with the wrong things going on in society. The situation is made worse by the fact that the justice system is the biggest perpetrator of injustice (Stevenson, 2012). The issue to do with life imprisonment for petty crimes has left me feeling as though over time, the essence of justice has lost meaning. Through the “misconducts” carried out within the justice system, it is possible to simply conclude that we, as a country, have lost ourselves in the frenzy of incarceration in the name of fighting crime (Stevenson, 2012).
