A Key Performance Indicator, also known as KPI, refers to a quantifiable measure that is used to gauge an organization’s performance based on a predefined target and objectives. KPIs can also be used to measure performance against other organizations. Different industries rely on different KPIs to measure their performance (Charles & Oliver, 2020). However, some KPIs are common across all industries, such as net profit, net profit margin, and customer retention rate.
