According to Bing, Choi, Jung, Ryu, Ahn, Kang, & Shin, (2018), de Quervain’s disease is a painful swelling which affects tendons which are found at the wrist and the base thumb.  Sometimes de Quervain’s disease is referred to as de Quervain’s tenosynovitis or de Quervain’s syndrome.
