Answer previewDiabetes is a health problem that is associated with the increase of glucose levels within the body to abnormal levels. The health problem is also known as hyperglycemia. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of Diabetes among individuals who have diabetes. Up to 90% of all cases in America on diabetes are of type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes leads to a state where the body does not utilize insulin in the required manner. This is generally known as insulin resistance.
At the onset of the disease, the pancreas makes excess insulin to try and overcome the insulin resistance. However, eventually, the organ is unable to sustain this production levels and tires out. This then leads to a decrease in insulin production within the body. As time goes by, the ailment gets worse and develops into a chronic disease (Zinman, Wanner, Lachin, Fitchett, Bluhmki, Hantel, & Broedl, 2015).
