Domain Name System (DNS) failover is a protocol used by system engineers to manage websites and or network resources to remain online in an interruption event. DNS refers to the protocol used to convert hostnames with read privileges into unique internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Moreover, Cloud Failover is configured to run on the network layer. It operates similarly, just like DNS failover. It tracks active server IP addresses and acts more of a traditional hardware load balancer.
