Culturally competent effective communication is the transfer of information with knowledge and awareness about healthcare disparities. Also, understanding that social-cultural factors affect the way people view health beliefs and behavior as well as being able to manage those factors in an appropriate manner (Campinha-Bacote, 2019). Cross-cultural training has been identified to be important in training healthcare professionals in reducing health care disparities. When applied in health care, it covers all areas, including patient-nurse encounters, health care institutions, and health planning institutions. Promoting culturally competent communication in all those areas contributes to success.
