The 9/11 terror attacks also had a social impact on the United States (Bruce, 2013). Previously, certain behavior by foreign nationals and at times, the United States citizens would have gotten looked at as innocent and unsuspicious. However, this attack changed how American society perceives certain behavioral patterns, especially if a suspected party had an Islamic or Arabic background. People started looking at Muslims, suspiciously, with their activities increasingly getting scrutinized (Bruce, 2013). For example, at one point, a couple of Muslim imams were forcibly removed from a U.S. airplane, under the suspicion of being terrorists because they simply prayed before their flight. As such, the 9/11 attack resulted in the emergence of religious profiling in the United States.
