The Duchess of Malfi is a play that was written by John Webster, a famous English dramatist. The play was created between the year 1612 and 1613. The first time the play was performed was privately in Blackfriars Theatre. The play was then presented before an audience at The Globe between 1613 and 1614. The publication of the play was done in the year 1623. The idea of the play was borrowed from events that took place during the period between the year 1508 and 1513 concerning Giovanna d’Aragonawho was the then Duchess of Amalfi.
