Dynamic in communication

 Dynamic in communication

When working with families and groups the priority is for the social worker to understand the process that is taking place. In both situations there is the overt (clearly stated) dynamics and the covert (hiddendynamics. The content (what is being said) in both settings is what is open and stated. The process (how it is being said) is the unspokeninformation; what is underneath the interaction is what the social worker needs to explore in both groups and family systems.

Stuart is also another group member who is not always contributing anything in the group thus acting the part of a withdrawer. The group does not exhibit cohesiveness since all members cannot air out their ideas freely. This, in turn, limits the depth of social integration that can be expressed by members.

Due to the dynamics exhibited in the group, treatment is likely to be negatively affected.
