Hurricane Katrina was recorded as a category five hurricane that caused landfall in Louisiana and Florida on the 25th August 2005. It was very catastrophic and caused a lot of damage in the immediate neighborhood. Response from the police, rescue agents and other forms of the government recorded a very slow response in evacuations and other types of managing the disaster. Response within the first 24 hours was uncoordinated and very minimal as compared to the affected region. It would, therefore, have been an appropriate approach if the government could have immediately called for an emergency evacuation.
