Environmental pollution is a significant problem that affects countries all over the world. The contamination happens in three major areas including the air, water, and land. Contamination occurs when harmful substances are released into the environment without any form of treatment and hence pollute a healthy environment (Schroeder, 2008). In the news article selected, the primary pollution happens to water in a river where substances that are pollutants are released into the river. This case presented a true environmental issue because there was water pollution caused by the abandoned Triumph Mine.
