According to Goldstein, what is the new green spirit of capitalism? What implications do you think it has for both environmental sustainability and the sustainability of capitalism? What do you think Schumpeter would make of it?
The application of clean technology plays a significant role in clean environment sustainability. This is because it eliminates worries of alternative capitalistic production methods of goods and services, producing many harmful wastes to our environment, consequently leading to global warming. Clean technology helps to save energy and therefore reduce the significant dependency on fossil fuels and other non-renewable sources of electricity with enormous carbon waste (Goldstein, 2018). Besides, clean technology promotes the sustainability of capitalism. The primary aim of capitalistic in every venture is to maximize profits. Clean technology reduces production and, consequently, total costs incurred in investment ventures, thus maximizing investments. Although clean technology comes at a high price tag and needs enormous capital to install fully, investors are convinced that high returns on capital accompany cleantech application.
