In Goffman’s The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, he introduces the idea of team performances which need the coming together of numerous actors (Garner & Hancock, 2014 p.550). The central argument he presents is that performers should strive to initiate a collaborative working consensus for a performance to be played out effectively, without which no meaningful work can be done.
