Religion has been part and parcel of everyday life alongside economic and political movements. For a better part of history, religion has been inseparable from daily life issues. It has therefore been critical in shaping world alliances, movements and general interactions. Religion has contributed its fair share of conflict around the world through the need to expand one’s faith (Crosby, 2015). Christianity and Islam, for instance, have had a history of push and pull the European continent with each side pushing to reclaim resources, spaces, and even countries. However, the church became a center of interest and many conflicts arose in Europe where it gave rise to Protestantism after breaking from Catholic. In this article, I discuss why it is true that European Expansion was motivated purely by religious rivalries among the European powers….
